Coffeshop Ch.1: The Girl From The Song

Rythian was working at his part time job at Blackrock Books, right across from Honeydew Bakery and about a block away from BARRY's Coffeshop.  He just loves the smell of the dusty old books that lied on those selves and the dimmed rooms. As the clock rang 5:00pm he grabbed a book from the "Magic" shelf and brought it to the front desk to buy it. His shift was over. He hopped onto his moped that was siting patiently outside, put his helmet on his head and his mp3 ear buds into his ears and started to listen to his favorite song "Set the Sun on Fire" by Patent Pending.  He didn't have much money to get himself a car plus he didn't really think he needed one since he is only in college.
He was heading back over to his apartment, not BARRY's the usual hang out for him and his best friend Nilesy. He just wasn't feeling like going back there lately, he just felt a bit depressed. As he listen to the song he just wished the girl in the song could be his. As he walks into the doorway of his apartment his roommate Nilesy instantly grabbed his keys and pulled Rythian outside and locked the front door and started pulling him back into the parking lot.
"Hey! Nilesy what the hell are you doing?!" Rythian asked.
"You need to have a good time for once. Come on we're going to BARRY's if you like it or not." Nilesy replied back as he pulled him back out the front door of their apartment building.
Before Rythian knew it they were at the entrance at the quiet coffeeshop. There were quite a few people there. Toby that's been working there for a while now, Martyn who always goes there to do his studies and talk to Toby, Lewis with his girlfriend Hannah, Simon in the corner with buckets of Jaffa Cakes, Sips and Sjin talking over their dreams of building a factory, Duncan trying program a new robot for his robotic studies and a peculiar person leaning his body against the wall. Nilesy pushed him in and they sat themselves down at their usual table near the shelf of books and close to a huge window to gaze out into the world.
Toby walked up to them and said "Hello Rythian and Nilesy! What would you like today? The same I'm guessing?"
"Yea, that will be fine, thanks" Nilesy replied back.
They sat there quietly awaiting their drinks and Rythian started to sink into his seat. Nilesy kicked him in the shin.
"Ow." Rythian mumbled.
"Dude, tell me why you don't want to come back here anymore? Come on! You loved to come here when you were done with your shift at Blackrock Books!" Nilesy said.
"Just don't ask me about it." He replied back.
"Oh. Trying to be mysterious, I see." Nilesy teased.
Rythian just ignored him then he heard Toby's voice from across the room.
"Okay Zoey, bring this tray of drinks to table 5 where the men with the glasses and turtle neck." He said to this girl.
"Yes sir!" she replied with a friendly tone.
She started to walk over to their table and Rythian sat back up. She was having a little trouble trying to balance, but the man that was leaning against the wall was helping her not spill the drinks.
"Okay, so two Blueberry, purple ice drinks." She set them on the table and Nilesy paid.
"Hey, I haven't seen you around here. What's your name?"  Nilesy asked.
"Oh I'm Zoey and before you ask his name is Tee." The red head replied back pointed at the man. He nodded letting his black hair going in front of his eyes and the bit of his hair dyed green "He's mute so he can't speak."
"Well, I'm Nilesy and his name is Rythian." He pointed at Rythian and he waved. "Hey, I have a great idea! How about we all have a welcoming party for you, and your friend like a gaming night or something?"
"Sounds great! Where do you guys live though?" she said in her friendly tone and Tee nodded excitedly.
"M and S apartment building. Floor 3 room 106." He said ignoring the death stare Rythian was giving him.
"Sounds great! See you around sevenish?"
"It's a deal!" They shook each other's hand and exchange home phones.
After they both left Rythian just sighed and pulled out a sheet of paper and pencil from his backpack and started writing. Something he does when he gets nervous or scared.
"Why did you do that?" Rythian asked not looking up from his paper as he wrote.
"Come on! You need some fun!" Nilesy said in an excited tone.
"Never mind."
They took their drinks and made out the door. Rythian saw Zoey smiling at him and waving so he decided to wave back. Nilesy was ranting on and on about what they should so for their game night with the new neighbors.  As long as it was something for the four of them to do it was fine by him. They walked back up the three flits of stairs and entered their apartment and Nilesy started to get some snacks out as Rythian pulled out their games. All they had to do now is waiting for their guests.
